Hillside Matsuri is a brand new one-day convention coming to Hillside Centre! Celebrate anime, manga, and pop culture with a fun-filled day for fans of all kinds.

Cosplay is encouraged, so come dressed as your favourite character! Enjoy talented artists and vendors, fun photo ops, engaging panels, and plenty more activities to discover throughout the day. Whether you’re a longtime convention goer or attending your first event, there’s something for everyone at Hillside Matsuri!

 

Main Stage Schedule

10 AM – 6 PM   Vendors

10 AM – 6PM   Coastal Collector’s Market – Pokemon Trading Cards

10:30 AM – 11 AM   Opening Ceremonies

12 PM – 1 PM   Cosplay Contest – Fabulous prizes provided by BC Hobbies. (Please read Cosplay Rules and Regulations below)

2 PM – 3 PM   Cosplay Expert Q & A

3 PM – 4 PM   Wotagei 101: Let’s Dance to the Rhythm!

4 PM – 5 PM    Cosplay Storytime

5PM – 5:30 PM   Closing Ceremonies

 

Cosplay Rules && Regulations

No Masks (exception made during the cosplay contest ‘walk-on’ but must be removed after event).

No gun props.

No metal or sharp edged props (foam and cardboard are great).

All props i.e. weapons must be checked in at the Volunteer Booth.

Cosplay must be appropriate for a public space. (please no swimsuits or ‘bunny’ outfits) Hillside Centre is a public space where small children are present.

Cosplay is not consent. Please ask before taking photos.
