Welcome Back!

We’re Happy to See You!

While you’ve been away, we’ve been working very hard preparing the shopping Centre for your return. Your health and safety are our top priority.

To protect yourself and others, we ask that anyone who is feeling unwell to please refrain from visiting us. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your return visit!

In keeping with provincial guidelines, our non-essential retailers are now open, following all physical distancing, health and sanitation guidelines.

Non-medical face masks are available by donation at Guest Services. Your donation will support the Greater Victoria Mustard Seed Food Bank.

While retailers are open, we encourage you to please check with the individual retailer(s) you are planning to visit before coming to the Centre, as some retailers are operating at reduced hours or by appointment only.

There are several instructional signs posted throughout the Centre. The signage is in place to keep you healthy and safe. Follow the directives and guideline as outlined. Please remember it is not business as usual. Please be kind and patient.

During the closure we have enhanced our cleaning practices. These enhanced cleaning procedures include the increased frequency of disinfecting common surfaces i.e. door handles as well as washrooms.

Additional signage includes limiting the number of people permitted in the washrooms at one time, including the Nursing Room. These measures have been implemented to maintain social distancing requirements. ‘Wash Your Hands’ signage, located in all the washrooms, is an important reminder to us all.

Hand sanitizer stations are located at the shopping centre entrances and throughout.

The water fountain will not be functional.

All promotional activity has been postponed.

Social-distancing measures have been implemented in the food court. Please use the common queue located in the upper and lower food court. 2 customer limit at each food service please.

Encouraging anyone who feels unwell, both employees and customers, to please refrain from visiting the shopping centre until you are well to do so.

Social distancing practices are applied throughout the shopping centre including the food court and outside retailer spaces. Please follow the signage directives.

HVAC filters have been changed and HVAC fresh air intake has been increased.

Retailers and service providers are required to maintain social distancing measures in keeping with government guidelines.

Curb-Side Pick-Up

When the customer arrives at the designated parking stall, located across from SportChek, the customer will call the retailer directly notifying the retailer you are at the shopping centre. Food Court

The Food Court is open for business. Following the provincial guidelines, some tables have been removed to create the necessary social distancing measures. Social distancing practices apply when lining up for a food vendor. Watch for floor markers and signage.

There are two centralized queues located in the upper and lower food court. If you are making a purchase from any of the food vendors* you must line up in the queue. Line ups directly in front of the food vendor is not permitted. The centralized queue will ensure social distancing. Maximum 2 people at a food vendor at one time. *Note: Tim Hortons will have their own line up procedures.

For safety reasons sorting organics from paper/plastic products will temporarily be suspended – please leave your food waste and tray on the table. A food court attendee will remove the debris and sanitize the table before it is occupied again.

And, of course, there will be increased cleaning within the food court and other high frequency touchpoints throughout the shopping centre.

Do Your Part – Keeping those around you safe

If you are not feeling well, showing flu-like symptoms please do not visit Hillside Centre until you are feeling better.

Following the social distancing requirements, as outlined by the signage, will help you avoid spray from coughs, sneezing or speaking. Wearing a face mask is recommended.

Line ups are to be expected. Retailers are required to limit the number of customers permitted in their space, reduced seating levels in the food court and limited washroom stalls will result in line ups from time-to-time. Please be respectful.

Regularly wash your hands using soap and water. Use the hand sanitizing stations often. Avoid touching your face.

Please discard used tissues immediately and wash your hands with soap and water.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the changes please contact 250-595-7154.

Being kind and patient is important during this challenging time.
